In the days of the British Empire Bharatpur was an exclusive game reserve where thousands of wildfowl were shot, but now it is one of the world’s top birding spots, fully protected and carefully managed. Home to a staggering variety of birds, it is also an ideal place to see monkeys, snakes, deer and other wildlife. Remote Bhandavgarh is a beautiful area of hills and forests offering the best chance anywhere to see tigers. Other reserves illustrated include the famous Corbett National Park and Ranthanbore where Tigers are the star attraction. The lecture also covers Indian village life and a visit to the Taj Mahal.
